Print Programme (CNPP)?
If you are looking for ways toward achieving your corporate carbon emission reduction goal, supporting the global goal i.e. GHG greenhouse gases emissions must halve by 2030 – and drop to net-zero by 2050, we are introducing you Carbon Neutral Print Programme (CNPP).
The Concept of CNPP
The greenhouse gases (GHG) emitted through the production and consumption of food, fuels, manufactured goods and services. One of the GHG – CO2 is released into the atmosphere when fossil fuels are burned. The increase of GHG in the atmosphere leads to the Greenhouse effect that causes melting of polar ice, rising sea level, climate change, etc. that risk the survival of mankind.
Therefore, we need to manage the GHG emission. Carbon footprint helps us to evaluate how green one eco product is quantitatively.
CNPP is a collaboration between Nets Printwork Sdn Bhd and Glocal Environment Centre (GEC) and Malaysian Nature Society (MNS). It is a voluntary carbon offsetting programme specially designed for the client who printed with NetsEco (by Nets Printwork Sdn Bhd) and enable client to invest in tree planting project to balance the carbon footprint generated from the print process.
NetsEco will calculate the carbon emission from the printing process based on the product life cycle assessment (LCA). We will match the carbon footprint with number of tree planted with our strategic partners i.e. GEC and MNS.
The Process of CNPP
The Label on the Printed Material
The total carbon emission for this printed material is nCO2e and it has been offset with tree planting project under the Carbon Neutral Print Programme (CNPP).
How CNPP works?
For sample, client prints 500 books and contribute 6.643 tCO2e of carbon footprint .
If based on 1 tree = 1 tonnes CO2e, the client needs to plant 7 trees.
The client will pay for the print and trees to offset the carbon footprint.
Client can choose to plant themselves or let the NGOs plant for them depending on the number of trees.
Note: The real calculation may vary depending on the type of tree to be planted to offset the offset the carbon footprint.
The cost for tree planting through this CNPP will be lower than normal tree planting with our partners.
